Whether you have a throbbing toothache that needs immediate attention or just a dental issue that has been a small annoyance, you’ll want the peace of mind that you are going to receive the best care possible. Dr. Robert Etemad, of the Palm Beach Institute of Dentistry provides that assurance of quality.
Born in Tehran, Dr. Etemad has been in the United States since he was a teenager. At age 15, his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended High School and then Arizona State University. After suffering the loss of a few teeth due to a bike accident and learning the cost to replace them, Robert was inspired to continue his education and attend dental school. He moved to South Florida and attended dental
school from 2003 to 2007 at Nova Southeastern. He went on to join the professional faculty, teaching at the dental school from 2007 to 2009. He had to leave that position when his mother was in an auto accident and he moved back to Arizona to help her. From there, he eventually opened an oce in Orange County, California and practiced there for 10 years. His path then led to West Palm Beach where he opened an office more than 20 years ago.
Dr. Etemad’s practice includes General Dentistry but he also specializes in every area from Dental Implants to Oral Surgeries (such as removal of wisdom teeth) to Orthodontia (Invisilign) and Dental Aesthetics. Shayla, his Office Manager said, “It’s a onestop shop.” She added, “Patients are pleased to be treated here and not referred out.”
Dr. Etemad explained that the majority of his patients are elderly and require prosthodontics which entails mainly crown and bridge, or implants. “Many elderly come to the office because they are in pain, or missing teeth and can’t chew. We can do same-day implants.” Dr. Etemad described the office, highlighting all the latest technology from 3D scanners to lasers to having his own lab to produce dentures and removables much faster than other practices. “We have the highest quality in equipment and staff. My assistant is a doctor and my hygienist is a doctor. We have the best of the best.”
Dr. Etemad treats children (ages 13 and up) and uses sleep sedation if necessary. He specializes with patients who are overwhelmed, nervous and have anxiety. He has an excellent team and many of the patients trust him as they trusted Dr. Moorhouse who was in the practice for 30 years prior to Dr. Etemad taking over. Both doctors had the same philosophy of being family oriented and, as Dr. Etemad explained, “With total focus on the patient, unlike some practices that are like factories or large corporations.”
Surprisingly, Dr. Etemad includes the use of Botox and explained, “If there is pain in the facial muscles, it is ideal for a dentist to treat. Who better than a dentist knows the anatomy of the face and mouth than one whose career is teeth?
