Paradise Found: The Polo Club of Boca Raton

The South Florida lifestyle includes an excess of warm days, easy access to the finer things in life, and a plethora of diverse leisure-time activities. Annually, these
attributes lure hundreds of thousands of domestic and international tourists. Once they are here, many visitors make the decision to become residents of the
aptly named “Sunshine State” and they begin their search for a dream home.

Palm Beach County is particularly attractive for new residents, as there is an abundance of upscale residential communities. For those wishing to enjoy the perks that come with country club living, one property shines like a beacon above all the rest, and that is The Polo Club of Boca Raton.

The Polo Club of Boca Raton sits on 1,100 meticulously landscaped acres and consists of twenty-four distinctive neighborhoods. Properties range from 2,000 to 8,000 square feet and floor plans include town homes, garden villas, fairway homes, and estate homes. Each dwelling has a garage, and homeowners may opt for a golf or a water view.

It is the access to the amenities, and other conveniences, that come with membership that truly distinguishes The Polo Club from many other area clubs. JeŠ Moore, the club’s Director of Marketing, states: “We oŠer so much to do, that a member can literally be engaged from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. each day.” Simply put, one does not reside at The Polo Club, one “lives it.” All of the club’s facilities are located in one building, which recently underwent a multi-million-dollar
renovation. The common areas feature a lush interior décor with dark woods, earthtone fabrics, and off-white accents.

The club boasts two premier championship golf courses and a nationally recognized tennis facility with twenty-seven Har-Tru courts. The complex includes a
35,000-square-foot spa — complete with a salon and a fitness center — and a pool. Residents may also enjoy a myriad of social and cultural activities, as well as numerous dining options.

Golfers can visit the driving range; arrange private lessons with the club pro; enroll their children in Junior Golf programs; and shop at the beautifully appointed Golf Shoppe. Tennis players have access to a teaching staff, comprised of PTR & USPTA professionals, and can opt for private and group tennis lessons; clinics and team tournaments; and Junior Tennis programs. The Resort & Tennis Shoppe is the perfect spot to purchase fashionable sporting attire and resort wear.

The Spa & Fitness Center brings a vacation-like feel to day-to-day life. A variety of massages, body scrubs, and facials are available by appointment. The salon offers hair services, including styling, cuts, and color; waxing services; and nail services. State-of-the-art ‚fitness equipment is available in the gym, along with personal training and group fitness classes. Spinning, water aerobics, and Pilates are extremely popular. After a work-out, or a massage, members can visit the locker rooms and access the Finnish sauna, the Jacuzzi whirlpool, and the wet steam room. Personal toiletry items, robes, and slippers are also provided upon request.

Edward Leonard, CMC is the Director of Culinary Operations for the club and one of only 71 Masters Chefs in the USA along with the distinction of German and world master chef. He oversees the dining and event venues along with the banquet operation that seats over 800 guests.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available daily throughout the year. The Polo Club has five full-service restaurants, as well as additional dining options. The Crown Room is the club’s five star modern steakhouse. Steeplechase features a Mediterranean menu focusing of healthy, but flavorful, seafood, meats and a raw bar. American Bistro offers global comfort food with the kitchen having a full wok station for asian dishes. Winners Circle is reopening with a new sushi bar and gastro pub menu. Barefoot Café is the poolside dining venues offering fresh garden salads, sandwiches, small plates and open for dinner in season as well.

Additionally, the club offers the Laurels ballroom, where numerous private and community functions are held, overlooking panoramic views of the golf course and pool. Traditions Lounge is the club’s preferred Happy Hour gathering place, while decadent ice cream treats are provided at the classic Mom-and-Pop-inspired Chill. Social and cultural activities also abound at the Polo Club. Twice a year, the management and staff kick-off and close the season by hosting elaborate theme parties, featuring food and music, for members of all ages. Their annual street fair, in December, is also legendary — for this event, the lower valet parking lot is transformed into a carnival, where families can enjoy unlimited rides and sample tasty “fair-food” to their heart’s content. Monthly dinner dances and tribute concerts are well-attended and highly anticipated gatherings. Sip and Paint, bridge, art classes, tech training, wine tastings, and chef demonstrations round out the extensive social calendar.

The Cultural Committee is responsible for planning the club’s day and evening lecture series, book talks, and cultural outings (including bus trips to area museums, art fairs, and theaters). Popular events include the Broadway Series, presented by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and the sold-out Community Performing Arts Concert Series staged at either the Spanish River Church or at the Kings Point Theatre.

The members of The Polo Club of Boca Raton are also quite philanthropic. They support local charities through fundraising and by hosting on-site events for select charitable organizations. PAP Corps, JARC, Boca Helping Hands, Hadassah, The CAC, and The Shoah Foundation, are just a few of the charities who have received generous donations, and support, from Polo Club members.

It is also noteworthy that The Polo Club of Boca Raton has been recognized as a Platinum Club Member; named America’s Healthiest Club; been Audubon
International Certified; and was named a Distinguished Club of the World by Boardroom Magazine. With so much to do and enjoy, it is understandable why
