ECJ Luxe Collection, Mizner Park
By Judy Kirkwood
All Bobby Yampolsky’s East Coast Jewelry stores pop with high class bling and brilliance that attracts A-list clients. But the ECJ Luxe Collection showcase at Mizner Park in Boca Raton offers a new galaxy of bright stars: a red F40 Ferrari for instance, an ejection seat from a 1959 MK4 Martin Baker fighter jet, a table made out of a Roll Royce titanium turbine fan, Salvador Dali inspired fine writing pens from Visconti’s Surrealist Collection.
In addition to fine jewelry and watches, the ECJ Luxe Collection at Mizner Park includes art and antiquities, access to private charter jet and yacht bookings, and historic slot machines from Bobby’s own collection of mechanical artworks. In other words: one stop luxury shopping.
The Mizner Park gallery was designed by Interiors by Steven G, one of the top high-end interior design firms in the country. It is reminiscent of a luxury home full of collectibles, a style Bobby knows well, living with pieces like a sterling silver Tiffany cigar box, a Yankee Stadium 25th anniversary desk set, and many objets d’art, both opulent and sentimental. One of the most intriguing visuals is a huge safe and the inner sanctum of a private viewing room.
“This has been a dream of mine for over a decade,” says Bobby. The inventory features things he has collected over the years, many related to his fascination with the intricacy of mechanical movements, like the inner workings of a watch. He certainly knows what makes his affluent clientele tick. Charter jet services are based on his own relationship with Apollo Jets, which flies out of Boca Raton’s private airport, and Fort Lauderdale Collection in Pompano Beach and Fort Lauderdale, where Bobby and his father have bought all their cars. “It’s really rewarding to be able to achieve this and have everything under one roof,” Bobby notes.
With ECJ locations on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles Beach and Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, why Boca Raton and why now? “It took this long to find a proper location,” Bobby says. “I wanted it to be in my hometown where I have lived for 20 years and where I plan to retire and eventually leave the business to the next generation. I watched Mizner Park being built and developed and it is the most prestigious location.”
It’s not surprising that Bobby would be thinking about the next generation since he has been in business with his father, Michael Yampolsky, for decades. The immigrants from Kiev, Russia, started building the ECJ empire at a small kiosk at what is now the Festival Flea Market. Following his father’s example of hard work coupled with an excellent business sense and a passion for jewelry, Bobby seems to work 24/7 to ensure a growing and changing repertoire of choices and to meet all his clients’ desires.
The ECJ Luxe Collection may include a wider range of offerings, many of them “masculine” accessories like men’s top watch brands, writing instruments, and navigation memorabilia. But there are still cases of glittering necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. And something new for women: handbags and clutches. Two more ECJ Luxe Collection galleries are planned for Miami’s design district and Charlotte, North Carolina — extensions of Bobby’s dream. stb
